If you’re concerned about your care needs in future and how these financially may be met, we can help. With an aging population, we know that these thoughts are always in the back of everyone’s minds and can seem worrying.
How is care funded?
If you need ongoing care in the future, your care fees may be paid by the Local Authority or by the NHS in certain situations. If available, NHS funding will apply without taking into account the amount of money you have, but, with budget cuts and stretched resources, the NHS may overlook a person’s care needs in any assessment. If NHS funding does not apply, you may be assessed to see if you need to contribute to the fees, but there are various exceptions and exemptions to this. It can feel like a scary situation but we are here to help you.
