Jack Matthews

Jack is currently a Trainee Solicitor sitting his first seat with the Wealth Management team in Teignmouth. His areas of work include estate administration and a variety of wealth management matters. Jack specifically enjoys the preparation of Wills and Lasting Powers of Attorney.

Clients working with Jack can expect a high level of professionalism combined with a pragmatic, solutions-focused approach. Prior to starting his Training Contract, Jack worked as a Paralegal with Tozers’ Litigation & Employment team, where he assisted with contentious probate matters in particular. Drawing on this background, Jack is well-equipped to advise his clients on potential claims that could arise against their estate.

Jack holds an Upper Second-Class Honours degree in Law from the University of Exeter, and recently completed his LPC LLM in Professional Legal Practice achieving a Distinction.

During his time at university, Jack volunteered at the University of Exeter Access to Justice Clinic - a pro bono legal advice centre which provides legal support to the local community. He is also listed as part of the 'Pathways to Law Alumni', a charity dedicated to supporting students from underrepresented backgrounds in pursuing higher education and careers in law. Jack is very passionate about promoting diversity and inclusion across the legal field, and he endeavours to continue this passion whilst working at Tozers.

Outside of the office, Jack enjoys travelling, spending quality time with family and friends, and is a keen gym goer.
