Erb’s Palsy is a disability which results from an injury to the brachial plexus commonly caused during birth.
Please watch our video “What is Erb’s Palsy” which explains how the injury arises.
We have worked closely with the Erb’s Palsy Group from their fledgling days, helping to supporting them to increase awareness and promote better understanding of this condition. The group strives to reduce incidence rates through education and training of the medical profession but also to promote better treatment, by early referral to specialist centres.
We were delighted join the Charity and help them celebrate an important milestone at their 30th Anniversary Ball in Leeds on 30 September 2023, and it was fabulous to see some of our former clients there, now adults, making their way in the world.
In our continued support of the Erb’s Palsy Group and to raise awareness of Erb’s Palsy during this important week we will be releasing a series of posts which highlight some of the simple everyday tasks that those with Erb’s Palsy struggle with. Clearly there are bigger obstacles in life for someone with Erb’s, but we hope that by focusing on the little things, it provides some insight into what it is like to live with this condition on a daily basis. Sometimes it is the simple things combined together that can feel insurmountable.
In addition in the month of October the medical negligence team are taking in part in the Erb’s Palsy Group’s 310,000 step challenge to raise funds. Look out for our posts this week and find out the final step count at the end of the month !
Finally Tozers have sponsored EPG badges which are being sold to raise funds and awareness.
If you would like to purchase one please contact the Erb’s Palsy Group directly.
